Abstract:

Introduction: The microarray technology and production of gene expression data are among the important developments in genetic science that provide ability to study the behavior of thousands of genes, simultaneously. Clustering is one of the most important data mining techniques used in gene expression data analysis. As, the performance of clustering methods is strongly affected by the structure of data, the result of clustering is always uncertain and there is no algorithm that can be used for all kinds of data. In this study, ensemble clustering (combined results of multiple clustering algorithms) was used for gene expression data analysis rather than using a single algorithm. Methods: The performance of ensemble clustering in three gene expression data sets, Nutt-v3, Alizadeh-v2 and SU, were evaluated by adjusted Rand index. Twelve different clusterings resulted from the combination of four clustering algorithms with three dissimilarity matrices were simultaneously applied on data. After merging the results, and running the final clustering, the estimated clusters were compared with actual groups by the adjusted Rand index. Results: The adjusted Rand index for the three data sets of Nutt-v3, Alizadeh-v2 and SU, were respectively 1, 0.9 and 0.58 which shows the remarkable accuracy of the proposed method in detecting patterns in data sets. Moreover, the designed algorithm could detect the actual number of clusters without errors. Conclusion: Ensemble clustering is a powerful and reliable method for gene expression data analysis.Due to the accuracy and quality of this method in detection of real data structures, it can be replaced the individual clustering algorithms.

Abstract:

Introduction: Results of previous studies have showed that there is no comprehensive and standard model for the development of Electronic Health Record (EHR). Therefore, in this study, with the aim of proposing a set of applicable standards for EHR development in Iran, different standards were compared in terms of structure and content, architecture and function aspects.Method: This comparative study was done in 2017 to compare standards of ASTM, HL7 and ISO organization based on their content. Then, a set of required standards for the development of a national electronic health record was suggested. Results: ASTME1384 not only included structure and content standard of EHR and CCR user friendly architecture, but also it considered data exchange. Executive function of HER in DSTU-functional model was significant achievement of Hl7. ISO18308 contained requirements for structure and content of EHR and ISO18306 presented interoperability of data comprehensively. Conclusion: In spite of different activities of standardization organizations in various fields of EHR development, each of them is more comprehensive in some specific aspects. According to the obtained results, for successful development of HER, E1384 is suggested for structure and content, CDA for architecture and DSTU conformance criteria for evaluation.

Abstract:

Introduction: pulmonary computed tomography angiography (CTA) is widely used in the detection of pulmonary embolism. Using these thin slices for studying clinical function of lung is necessary, but it is time-consuming for radiologists. Therefore, several systems have been designed for detection of embolism. The aim of this study was to review and evaluate systems of detection of pulmonary embolism. Methods: In this study, all the articles in databases including IEEE, Science Direct, Medical Physics and SPIE in the field of processing pulmonary computed tomography angiograms and computer-aided detection systems were reviewed. A total of 16 articles between 2002 and 2015 were extracted. Each article presented one CAD system that was evaluated with quantitative and qualitative analysis. To assess systems, the number of images in database, sensitivity and false positive error rate were used. Results: Various systems are designed to detect embolism. Image database is affected by different factors such as pulmonary diseases, noise, the time of taking image, diversity of pulmonary embolism in main and peripheral branches and the number of data. The maximum number of data was 177 samples and the minimum was 3 samples. Sensitivity and the number of false positive errors are good criteria. Among the CAD systems, the sensitivity was 50% to 100% and the rate of false positive was 2- 22.6 per scan. Conclusion: According to the results, in addition to having high sensitivity and low false positive error, detection systems must have large image database of embolism in various branches of vessels.
