Universities and industries play an important role in the growth of each other and the development of countries. Therefore, this research has identified interpretive approaches to improve communication between industries and higher education institutions from the point of view of managers and professors. The research approach is a qualitative methodology and ethnographic method is used for applied research. . The data of the study were assembled by using participatory observation, semi-structured interview technique and document analysis and then combined with triangulation technique. The type of the sampling method used in the survey is Critical-Purposive Sampling and by using theoretical saturation index, 15 university professors and 10 industry managers were interviewed as a sample. Their attitudes and views with respect to improving the relationship between industry and university were examined. Considering contextual theory, the main results of this study are changes in environmental conditions, academic promotion, competence raise, support of structure, cultivation, managerial change, and context. According to the research, all of these categories can be categorized as improving communication between industries and higher education institutions strategies.
