Abstract:

The growing popularity of free zone mega-programs has led to the need to study the success of these mega-programs; a topic that has not received enough attention in project management researches. The purpose of the present study is to develop a theoretical model for the definition process of successful free zone mega-programs in Iran. This study was conducted through an inductive approach and used the grounded theory strategy. For this purpose, data were first collected through semi-structured interviews with twenty-two private and public sector managers related to Iran's free zones. Then, data analysis was performed using coding techniques. The categories related to the definition process of successful free zone mega-programs in Iran were extracted from the interviews and relationships among the categories that were discussed. Based on the process of coding, six propositions were created and the theoretical model for definition process of successful free zone mega-programs was developed. Using the results of this study, the factors influencing the definition of a successful free zone mega-program as well as criteria for evaluating the success of the process of defining the free zone mega-program are presented.

Abstract:

Employee commitment, sometimes called work involvement/ belongingness/ engagement, materializes when people have interest in their job, enjoy doing it and try harder to accomplish it. This study aims to investigate the effective factors which can enhance the commitment of employees at individual, group and organizational levels. It also intends to identify and reach a model for the relations among variables. Using structural equations model, data were collected from 65 Iranian state organizations. Findings show that at an organizational level such factors as organizational structure, organizational support, organizational culture, compensation; at group level such factors as effective leadership, pleasant work environment, employee participation, organizational trust, constructive feedback, role transparency; and at individual level such factors as job security, work autonomy, internal motivation, organizational commitment, perceived organizational justice, religious commitment, and extraversion have an impact on employee commitment.

Abstract:

The main objective of this study is to propose a systematic way to develop and validate a model of competency and to provide an instrument for measuring the competencies of state-owned bank managers at basic, intermediate, and senior levels. To achieve this goal, a combination of qualitative and quantitative research approaches were used. Questionnaires and deep interviews were administered to 100 managers of these banks. Findings show that to evaluate the competencies of the managers, we need to apply 111 indexes, each bearing a different multiplier, compiled in 5 dimensions including individual-personality, individual-mental (cognitive), interpersonal (social), organizational, and managerial. Moreover, we need 16 factors including sticking to values and ethics, personality credibility, action orientation, thinking and analyzing ability, ability to learn, mega capability, effective communication, ability to negotiate, ability to work with teams, general knowledge and skills, specialty knowledge, marketing and customer orientation, strategic leadership, managing an organizational unit, managing people, and basic managerial skills. This research also provides some managerial and research recommendations based on which, one can introduce competency management in the Iranian state-owned banks.

Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to identify the most important components affecting energy sustainability and to study the relationship among energy sustainability dimensions by taking an institutional approach. Hence, this study aims to reach a framework through synthesizing Williamson’ s institutional hierarchy and the causal relational framework of IAEA/IEA. In order to collect data, a sample of 110 out of 196 developed and under-developed countries was selected. Using partial least squares method, the most important components and interrelationships among institutional, economic, social and environmental sustainability were analyzed. The results of path analysis show that both informal institutions, such as social capital, and formal institutions, like good governance, institutional environment and market institution have positive influence on economic, social and environmental sustainability of energy systems. Also, the effects of economic sustainability on social sustainability and the effects they both have on environmental sustainability are positive and significant. In other words, enhancing all aspects of institutional, economic and social sustainability with different degrees contributes to the improvement of environmental sustainability at national and international levels.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to survey the effects of leadership styles (transformational and servant leadership) on employees’ behavioral patterns regarding change (change reception, resistance to change and indifference to change). The statistical population included employees of Ahvaz governmental organizations. Non-probability sampling method (available sample) was used and finally, 307 questionnaires were returned by the subjects and provided the basis for data analysis. Validity was confirmed through evaluation of experts and reliability was measured through Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Results of data analysis, based on structural equation modeling, show that transformational and servant leadership styles have a positive and significant influence on the reception to change but have a negative and significant impact on the resistance and indifference to change.

Abstract:

Technology evaluation is a process which systematically studies and measures the impacts of introducing, developing, changing and modifying technology in an economic institution or a society. Intending to present a cluster of technological projects, while moving beyond modern industrial technologies to touch ecological technologies, this research is performed on the technological projects of the Iranian Tele-Communication Company as a case-study. Experts who at least held Master’ s Degree with more than five-years experience comprised the statistical population of the study. The sample consisted of 10 subjects who were selected through snowball sampling. In order to reach a theoretical framework, identifying variables, preparing the research literature and data collection tools such as interviews and questionnaires, the survey method was applied. To compute the validity of data-collection tools, the Fuzzy Delphi technique was used. Based on Fuzzy clustering method, 15 indexes were finally identified and were classified in five categories including: (a) analysis, including prioritizing the needs, selecting technological solutions and analyzing challenges, needs and opportunities; (b) identification, including capability acceptance, capability completion and capability renovation; (c) project financial ownership, including investment level and financial appraisal; (d) designing and engineering, including concordance with the market and knowledge of technology; (e). empowerment, including identifying success factors, acquiring the technology, benchmarking and creating competitive advantage.
