Education and research are fundamental factors for a dynamic society. By this background and this approach which has a long history, educational system is based on teacher or teachers pivotal role. On the other hand, there were beginners that by practice in the presence of their mentors, had insatiable for knowledge acquisition. Training and education plays a major role for the consecutive success of an organization. Proper training and education is given in the healthcare field for service quality improvement. This is done in order to protect themselves and the organization. By giving proper training as well as education to employees can minimize error on them. Each trainee has to be properly trained and educated on all standards to face the consequences and it will prevent the company and employee from any cases that was filed against them. The healthcare world is new technology and provides various medicines. Education involves learning process using values, theories to develop training is to provide specific skills to an employee. Therefore, education in any society has especial importance in major development. For this reason, in these societies, science and technology ere parallel to development and progress, the importance of Specialized Training Services became more and more tangible. But research is the main item which provides the development and progress of a society. The author believes that taking advantage of the new findings in the future and new technologies in the biology sciences as well as in medicine more fundamental changes will happen, and perhaps today’ s course topics, would be tomorrow’ s professional and educational complementary courses. Aims The use of non-invasive laboratory tests based on detection of biomarkers in the blood samples is a good strategy for early diagnosis of breast cancer. The lymphocyte radiosensitivity assessment can be a valuable method to diagnose breast cancer. The objective of this study was to investigate the radiosensitivity indices in sporadic breast cancer among Iranian women and to evaluate the potential of those indices for clinical use in early diagnosis of breast cancer and assessing its susceptibility. Materials & Methods The present study is a case-control that was conducted on 32 patients with sporadic breast cancer (patient group) and 30 healthy individuals (control group). The obtained blood samples of both groups were exposed to gamma-irradiation (0. 4 Gy) and the level of chromosome breakage was determined based on the G2 chromosome breakage assay protocol. In the metaphase lymphocytes, the percentage of the abnormal cells was calculated as the radiosensitivity index for comparing the two groups. Data were analyzed by SPSS 19 software using student t-test, paired t-test, chi-square and Fisher exact test. Findings There was a significant difference in the percentage of the index of the abnormal cells after irradiation between two groups (p=0. 001). The area under the curve (AUC) of the percentage of the abnormal cells and odds ratio (OR) were found as 0. 725 with 3. 818, respectively. The frequency of increased radiosensitivity based on this index (at 61% cut-off point), was 65. 6% in the patients and about 33% in the control group. Conclusion The increased level of chromosome breakage following irradiation with gamma rays can be used as an early diagnostic biomarker of breast cancer or a possible indicator for breast cancer susceptibility.

Aims Size, shape, and volume of Red Blood Cells are important factors in diagnosing bloodassociated disorders such as iron deficiency and anemia. Every day, thousands of blood samples are tested by microscopes and automated cell counter devices in pathology laboratories around the world, which may be expensive and time-consuming. The objective of this study was to measure mean corpuscular volume of abnormal red blood cells using the adaptive neuro-fuzzy system with image processing. Materials & Methods This study was conducted on 60 blood samples from the archive of pathology laboratory of Sarem hospital including 40 normal samples and 20 abnormal samples. Adaptive local thresholding and bounding box methods were used to extract the inner and outer diameters of red cells to calculate MCV. An adaptive-network-based fuzzy inference system was used to classify blood samples to normal and abnormal groups. In this method, normal and abnormal blood samples were examined using image processing techniques and MATLAB software. Findings The Accuracy of the proposed method and area under the curve were found as 96. 6% and 0. 995%, respectively. Conclusion The proposed method provides diagnostic capability using a drop of the blood sample and showed suitable performance on pathological images. The designed automatic system can be a convenient and cost effective alternative for common laboratory procedures. In addition, the method provides a basis for calculating other parameters of blood test or CBC such as mean cell hemoglobin, mean cell hemoglobin concentration, RDW, hematocrit, and red blood cell count.

Aims Intra Uterine Insemination (IUI) is a medically-assisted reproduction technique (ART) enables infertile couples to achieve the successful pregnancy. Given the unpredictability of such techniques, many investigations have been done on the factors affecting the techniques. Data mining is one of the main tools that can help researchers to evaluate the factors. Data mining utilize the statistical methods along with the artificial intelligence (AI) to help different sciences including infertility science and research for interpreting the results and analyzes of data appropriately and extracting the hidden patterns and knowledge in the data. The objective of this study was to analyze the factors affecting IUI results by clustering. Materials & Methods The IUI data were clustered utilizing the K-means )a clustering method in data mining). Davise-Buldian index was used to calculate the best number of clusters. The similar individuals were included in the same cluster and the success rates in those clusters were also measured. Findings Some of the characteristics of individuals such as age, body mass index (BMI), type of infertility, the cause of infertility and etc. were effective factors on IUI success rate. Conclusion Factors such as age, BMI, type of infertility, the cause of infertility and etc. can determine the success rate of the IUI method.

Aims Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is known as one of the causes of anogenital cancers, including cervix cancer. The inability of viral culture has made the initial detection of HPV difficult. Therefore, molecular methods are the best way to identify, and among these methods, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) amplification methods are very useful and accurate in diagnosis. The aim of this study was to investigate the presence of HPV in Iranian patients and the relationship between the type of virus (high risk and low risk) and cervical lesions by molecular methods based on PCR virus samples. Materials & Methods The present study was conducted on 67 biopsy and Liquid base cytological samples including cervical Liquid cytology and cervical tissue biopsy. The cytological diagnostic test and pathological examination were performed and the DNA was extracted and then, DNA typing was conducted by PCR using primers MY09/MY11, specific for capsid gene. Findings Out of 67 patients, 2 cases (3. 0%) were not infected with HPV, while cervical cytology was symptomatic. Seven cases had no symptoms in the cervical epithelial cells, which were virtually positive for the virus, and the rest also had both viral and clinical symptoms. Most of the samples (52. 2%) were infected with high-risk viruses and, most of them were HPV16. Conclusion HPV can be the main responsible for the cervical cells changes, that has the ability to become cancerous. Also, in most cases, the main cause of the infection is high-risk type of the virus. The most prevalent type of HPV that infected cervical epithelial cells is HPV16.

Abstract:

Aims Modern medicine in Iran during the Qajar period and the Chancellery of Amir Kabir, especially after the establishment of the “ Darulfonon” , flourished. This school had a variety of majors, including medicine and pharmacy, and with the recruitment of foreign teachers, was a major contributor to the development and teaching of science, including medicine. Then the school graduates, along with teachers, established government hospitals. Also, at that time, some branches of hospitals were assigned to midwifes and tutors in the hospital, which were soon shut down. But in the next years, regarding to the increasing number of high-risk pregnancies and the deaths of women and children, the necessity of establishing a hospital for pediatricians and obstetricians was quite evident. So far, there has been some the sources about the maternity hospital that does not exceed a total of several lines, but in the Qajar periodical archives and publications, as well as internal and external experts’ reports, the history of the women’ s hospital was presented in terms of the process of development and executive organization, financing, development of activities. Conclusion Dr. Amir Alam in 1915 stated the necessity of establishing a maternity hospital to the Ministry of Education. Thus, the Board of Governors donated a building for the hospital. After the establishment and supply of equipment in 1916, the maternity hospital was opened. From the time of its establishment to 1927, this hospital was under the supervision of Dr. Alireza Mohazzabolsaltaneh. Women’ s Hospital as the first special treatment center for women and children in Iran was the base of other health centers, and treatment programs for women and children in the country.

Abstract:

Introduction Toxoplasmosis is caused by a parasite named “ Toxoplasma Gondii” . One of the main consequences of toxoplasma infection in pregnant women is the transmission of infection to the fetus. Although congenital toxoplasma infection is rare, it may cause severe neurological and ophthalmic diseases that can lead to blindness. There are also chances of developing heart and brain abnormalities. The best approach is to take care of both before and during pregnancy and to teach ways to prevent toxoplasmosis. The purpose of this study was to review the general aspects of the disease, prevention methods, and methods for the diagnosis and treatment of Toxoplasma infection in pregnant women. In this study, referring to valid scientific databases such as Science Direct, PubMed and Elsevier, received special articles and issues related to the topic were extracted and analyzed. Conclusion Toxoplasma infections in healthy individuals are asymptomatic or have mild and non-specific symptoms. But during pregnancy, it may be associated with serious consequences and complications, including brain and eye damage, growth retardation and even intrauterine death. Therefore, it seems necessary to give required information about prevention of toxoplasma infection during pregnancy to pregnant women or women who are planning to become pregnant.

Abstract:

Patient Information Uterine leiomyomas are the most common pelvic tumors in women. The patient is 26 year old virgin woman, who had come to Sarem Hospital due to severe bleeding. In the studies, cervical fibrosis was detected in the uterus, which was associated with anemia and severe bleeding, and the removal of fibroma was necessary. Cervical fibrosis is surgically removed through the vaginal canal, but the patient, due to virginity, was reluctant to undergo surgery through the vaginal canal. Therefore, the decision was made to perform this surgery through abdominal myomectomy. The patient was discharged from the hospital 2 days after surgery with a good general condition and satisfaction with the health of the virginity. Conclusion In Islamic countries such as Iran, considering the culture of the general public, the virginity is very important. In this particular case, due to the request of his virginity and its importance for the family, surgery through abdominal myomectomy was recommended. Although the surgical procedure is followed by scarring of abdominal surgery and postoperative pain, but the result is the same as the result of the surgery through the vaginal canal.
