With regards to the problem of large numbers of patients with Hedatid cyst in operational treatment and impossibility of operation in multiple cyst and improper situation and also with regards to the success of treatment with Albandazol, in order to evaluate the effects of this medicine on the patients with Hedatid cyst, this research has been carrien out on the patients at Shaheed Modaress Hospital and those introduced trom the medical centers from the years 1376 to 1378. This research was carried out in semi experimental clinical method on the patients with Hedatid cyst who could not be operated due to operational treatment and recurrence, impossibility of repeated operations or their unwillingness for surgery. The patient's personal charactristics, the location, the number, size and the morphological situation of the cyst were studied and recorded. Pregnant women and children below two years of age were exempeted. Every patient was given from the 400 mg. Albandazol tablets made in North Korea, 15mg for every on Kg. Of body weight and the result was studied through ultra Sonographyand C.T. Scanning based on number, size and morphological signs. The research was carried out on twenty five patients- fourteen men and eleven women at the age range of 43.7 ± 14.9 from which fourteen patients had liver cyst, five had liver and abdominalcyst, four had lung cyst and two had lung and liver cyst. Six of the patients (24%) gained complete cure and 15 of them (60%) had partial recovery (Existence of morphological signs) and four patient weren't cured or didn't co-operate. In this research medical treatment of Hedatid cyst with Albandazol has been successful. In respect with similar researches we recommend a perfect experimental research on the parasite activity for comparison of medical and operational treatment with hose who have only received medical treatment.
