Abstract

Purpose: The Holy Quran is one of the best reference books in explaining the importance of plants in various suras, including Surah Mominun, Al-Rahman, Al-Baqarah, and An'am. For this purpose, this article examines Medicinal plants in the Holy Quran and their therapeutic uses. Materials and methods: The Holy Quran is the main source of this study. The current research aims to identify Medicinal plants and their uses by examining the verses in a descriptiveanalytical way. The method of collecting information in this research was based on library expression and based on the Holy Quran and interpretive and narrative sources. Findings: These plants were used in various periods as medicine to treat many diseases. Considering that there is no exact naming of some Quranic plants in scientific or religious texts, an attempt has been made to prepare a list of these plants with precise botanical identification (scientific name, plant genus name, common name and Persian name). Conclusion: In the present research, as much as possible, a complete checklist of Medicinal plants in the Holy Quran was prepared to be used as a quick reference guide for further studies in the field of ethnobotany.
