Abstract

Choosing an appropriate vendor is a problem for many libraries. The aim of this study is to examine the performance of the Latin SERIALS VENDORs from the viewpoint of experts at the department of foreign subscriptions of academic libraries affiliated with the Iranian Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, based on criteria of services quality, flexibility, speed and ability in supply journals. Data analysis was based on descriptive and inferential statistics and carried out by taking advantage of the social sciences software package (SPSS). The results revealed that there was a significant difference among vendors and they were placed in different groups. The results also showed that by the increase in the vendor’ performance, the extent of experts’ satisfaction did not increase in the same amount. Finally, in order to improve selection process and increase vendors’ performance, some suggestions were offered.
