Abstract

This research aimed at investigating the infrastructure of LIBRARY SERVICES in fulfilling the educational needs of Payam Noor University, i.e, DISTANCE EDUCATION. 10 large and 10 small PNU Centers were randomly selected for survey. Also 220 faculty staff were asked to fill in a questionnaire. Findings are: 1) there is a significant difference between large centers and small centers regarding the infrastructural factors, 2) there is no significant correlation between quantitave and qualitative growth of PNU, 3) there is a significant difference between the view of faculty staff and students regarding facilities, resources and services, 4) there is a significant difference between the faculty staff and students regarding the extent to which printed and digital information are accessible, 5) there is a significant difference between the faculty staff and students regarding the possible replacement of printed sources by datelines.
