Abstract

Development is a subject with special complexities in practice and theory. Development IS an extensive process that covers all aspects of social life. Since change is regarded as the essential part of development and it is not possible without the existence of sufficient information, "Information for development" must be at the center of development process. The present article aims at investigating the theoretical concepts of development through reviewing the viewpoints of five authors in INFORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT areas. Furthermore it describes the role of INFORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT areas, information centers and information management in enhancing the development process. Texts present on development and related matters have also been used.
