Abstract

Aim and Background: The purpose of this research was to explore of perceived social support, fa mily resiliency and religious orientation in predicting emotional cognitive regulation in students in Kermanshah. Methods and Materials: The correlation design was used in this study. Populations were all students of Kermanshah Azad University in 2018-2019 and were selected through multistage cluster random method sampling. Sample numbers were 197 students. The instruments used in this study were Multidimensional Scale of Perceived social support, family resiliency Assessment Scale, Allports religious orientation Scale and emotional cognitive regulation Questionnaire. Multivariable regression, and Pearson correlation coefficient were used for data analysis. Results: The results show that there were significant relationships between social support, family resilience and religious orientation with emotional regulation styles and these variables significant was a significant predictor of emotional regulation styles (P<0/05). Conclusion: The results of this study showed that significant relationships between social support, family resilience and religious orientation can be an important component in the prediction of emotional regulation, so recognizing the predisposing and underlying factors of emotional regulation can be considered in the implementation of preventive programs.
