Abstract

Introduction: Smartphones have become an integral part of life by replacing computers with internet access and making life easier. But along with these positive features, there are also various negative effects. Therefore, the use of smartphones can also be problematic. The present study was conducted with the aim of developing a model of Nomophobia symptoms in students based on attachment style and media literacy with the mediation of Internet addiction. The method of this study was descriptive-correlation based on the structural equation model. The statistical population of this study was the male students of the first secondary school in the city of Qom, who were selected using the random sampling method of sample clusters with a volume of 306 people (n = 306). The tools of data collection were Yildirim and Correa's Nomophobia Questionnaire (2015), Hazan and Shaver's Adult Attachment Questionnaire (1987), Philosophical media literacy Questionnaire (2013) and Young's Internet addiction Questionnaire (1999). Data analysis using structural equation modeling method and Lisrel software showed that avoidant attachment style has an indirect effect on Nomophobia symptoms with the mediation of Internet addiction (p<0. 05, β, =0. 54),Anxious attachment style has an indirect effect on Nomophobia symptoms with the mediation of Internet addiction (p<0. 05, β, =0. 56), Secure attachment style has an indirect effect on Nomophobia symptoms through the mediation of Internet addiction(β,=-0. 51, p < 0. 05),media literacy has an indirect effect on the symptoms of Nomophobia through the mediation of Internet addiction (p<0. 05, β, =0. 57), Avoidant attachment style has a direct effect on Nomophobia symptoms (p<0. 05, β, =0. 36).
