Designing a tool to assess the psychological characteristics of nurses and emergency medical teams in accidents

Abstract

 Introduction: The aim of this study was to compare the stress and occupational stress tolerance of Accident nurses with nurses working in hospitals. Method: The method of this descriptive study was causal-comparative. The statistical population of the study included all nurses working in the accident department of Tehran and nurses working in hospitals in District 5 of Tehran. 128 nurses were selected as the research sample by available sampling method Data were collected using a questionnaire on stress tolerance and job stress and the data were analyzed by analysis of variance. Results: The results showed that there was a significant difference between anxiety tolerance and job stress of accident ward nurses and inpatient ward nurses and accident ward nurses had lower anxiety tolerance and more job stress. Conclusion: Therefore, it can be concluded that nurses working in the accident department due to stress and heavy responsibilities in the workplace and the need for a quick response experience less distress and more job stress than nurses in inpatient wards.
