Abstract

Gastrointestinal (G.I) disorder is a common complication after any operation; within which CESAREAN SECTION cause sever (G.I) disorder. Many women gone under CESAREAN SECTION use MINT ESSENCE to treat this complication.So, this study is conducted to assess the effect of MINT ESSENCE on (G.I) disorder of women after CESAREAN SECTION, and in a clinical trial double-blined study, we chose 107 women and assigned them in two groups (47 placebo, 60 drug). In case group we offered 40 drops of MINT ESSENCEs each 20 minutes for 3 doses, and in control one, we did so with a placebo.Findings showed a significant relation between the drug usage and belching (P<0.001), but as for other complaints such as bowel sounds, Pressure on suture line, breathing and elimination difficulties, no significant relations were found.To sum up, MINT ESSENCE has a positive effect on belching after CESAREAN SECTION, other studies on the effect of this drug on other gynecological surgeries is recommended.
