Abstract

Today, urban the concept of public spaces is an essential issue in urban planning and has important role because these places provide spaces for social life of cities. Urban public space should be provide in the presence of different social groups like women in society. In this paper by putting an emphasis on the necessity of effective presence of special social groups attempt was made by investigating an urban public space (Ardabil) to study the rate of desirability of the urban space for the presence of women. Then we had many indicators to examine the utility of the case study (center of Ardebil city) for women with use of questionnaire by studying about URBAN SPACES and women experiences, needs and their problems in cities. This paper aims to Recognize and evaluate URBAN SPACES appropriate for women based on the findings and results of a field study that has been prepared of center of Ardebil city. Finally after performing the appropriate statistical analysis (chi-square and regression tests), the relationship between dependent and independent variables were discussed. Results showed linear correlation between defined indicators and the women SATISFACTION. Urban space can be effective on improving social justice and if the attention to urban space has not been made, it can increase social restrictions. It is hoped that the city management take the basic steps in moving towards a more practical way for desirability of the urban space with attention to this issue.
