Abstract

One of the most important points in urban system in every country is the condition of population special distribution, that its analyzing is necessary for most of the environmental planning. In our country in recent decades, inconsistency in population locative distribution has been multiplied because of rural migration to middle cities and migration to big cities. We know of inconsistency in population scale produces, inconsistency in other parts such as economic, social and political activities; so we should have new planning for POPULATION DISTRIBUTION. In this research, different models and indices such as "Primate City Indexes, Concentration Indexes, ENTROPY MODEL, Rank-Size Rule, and THE NEAREST NEIGHBORHOOD Analyzing method" are used for searching about the process of changes in urban systems, population dispersion and the location of settlements in ESFAHAN province during 1335-1385 are analyzed.The results show that although urban system of province is going toward consistency during the last 50 years, but inconsistency and disharmony in urban hierarchy and population special distribution is obvious because ESFAHAN is the first city and there is a big difference between its population and the other cities. Also, according to THE NEAREST NEIGHBORHOOD Analysis method, the pattern of cities dispersion in this province is random and without planning. It is important to note that this analyzing is useful for other provinces.
