Abstract

This qualitative study explores IRANIAN WOMEN PSYCHO-SOCIAL perceptions upon IMMIGRATION to Canada. To gather data through interview sessions, a semi-structured questionnaire and probing questions were used. Interviews were recorded and transcribed for content analysis. The major psychosocial common themes were classified into five categories: 1) communication avoidance 2) applying defense mechanisms 3) changes in personal identity 4) sense of insecurity, and 5) psychosomatic disorders french: Une etude qualitative sur des impacts psychosociaux de l'immigration sur les femmes iraniens Cette etude qualitative explore des perceptions psychosociales des femmes iraniennes lors de l' IMMIGRATION au Canada. Aux donnees de rassemblement par des sessions d' entrevue, un questionnaire et des questions de sondage semi-structures ont ete employes. Des entrevues ont ete enregistrees et transcrites pour l' analyse du contenu. De principaux themes communs et psychosociaux ont ete classifies dans cinq categories: 1) l' action d' eviter de communication 2) appliquant des mecanismes de defense 3) des changements dans l' identite personnelle 4) le sens de l' insecurite, et 5) les desordres psychosomatiques. spanish: Un estudio cualitativo sobre el impacto psico-social de la mujer Irani emigrante Este estudio cualitativo en resumen muestra la situacion psicosocial de la mujer irani emigrante en Canada. Para recoger datos a traves de sesiones de entrevista, se utilizo un cuestionario semi-estructurado y preguntas de sondeo. Las entrevistas fueron grabadas y transcritas para el analisis del contenido. Los principales temas comunes psicosociales fueron clasificados en cinco categorias:1) evitar la comunicacion, 2) la aplicacion de los mecanismos de defense, 3) cambios en la identidad personal, 4) sensacion de inseguridad, y 5) los trastornos psicosomaticos.key word: mujer irani, emigracion, psico-social
