Abstract

Bourdieu believes that the position of a particular individual in the FAMILY and society is defined respectively by the Size and qualities of their capital. In light of the theory of exchange and source, this article investigates the relationships between WOMEN's ECONOMIC CAPITAL and the qualities of their relations with their spouses in FAMILY (the existence of democratic relationships). Subjects of this study were randomly selected from 324 Tehran's households and employed WOMEN. The data was obtained through questionnaire. The results indicate that WOMEN's ECONOMIC CAPITAL and their relationships with their spouses are positively related. Moreover, among the background variables, spouse's occupational status has proven to be positively related to the dependant variable.
