Title

Factors affecting on work engagement with meta-analysis approach

Abstract

 This research studies the factors affecting the work engagement in Iranian organizations using the meta-analysis approach. The present research is descriptive in terms of purpose and the type of applied research. The statistical population of the study consisted of 54 master and doctoral theses, and work engagement research, that 28 were entered through the meta-analysis process with a non-random purposive sampling method. The reliability of the identification was obtained through the agreement of the referees in selecting the researches and their categorization, the coding reliability was obtained through the agreement of the referees on the use of specific concepts for encoding variables, and the significance of the level and the size of the effect was obtained through an agreement in measuring the effect size between the two meta-analyst. The findings of the study showed that among 46 size effects, twenty-two had great effect sizes (more than 0. 5), three small effect sizes (between 0. 1 to 0. 3) and twenty one medium-sized effects (-0. 3) 0. 5). The results also showed that the variables of psychological empowerment, psychological capital, perceived organizational support, and meaningful work have the greatest effect, and the variables of servant leadership, occupational requirements and perceived support from the partner have the least effect size.
