Abstract

This research article is to evaluate the level of cooperatives readiness to perform Total QUALITY Management (TQM) in Mazandaran province. The major question of the research is how much readiness has Mazandaran ACTIVE PRODUCTION COOPERATIVES for performing Total QUALITY Management. This question will develop 8 other questions for the research. The research method is descriptive–survey and the sample includes 210 managers and specialists of cooperatives by stratified random sampling based on the kind of industry. This paper uses US federal questionnaire for data collection. After collecting the data, Binomial Test tries to respond these questions. The results of research revealed that 4 criteria containing "top-management leadership and support, strategic planning, QUALITY assurance and the results of QUALITY and productivity improvement" have an appropriate effect in performing TQM and 4 criteria including "focus on the customers, training and recognition of employee, empowerment of Employee and team working, QUALITY measurement and analysis, all are not at desirable level. The findings represent that the readiness of ACTIVE PRODUCTION COOPERATIVES in Mazandaran industries is at desirable level for applying Total QUALITY Management. At the end, some suggestions are offered to advance the factors mentioned above.
