Abstract

This essay examines the STRUCTURE of STATEMENTs and their artistic function in poetic discourse. I have adopted a critical approach which questions some elements of classic rhetoric and investigate the process of completion of these subjects in modern poetics according to the findings of general linguistics and literary theory in the ideas of Russian Formalists and Structuralists. In the second part of the essay, an attempt is made to apply the ideas discussed in the first part to the selected poems of the modern Iranian poet FOROUGH FARROKHZAD and the STATEMENTs of these poems have been classified. Because qualitative differences in poetic STATEMENTs is such that we cannot show them by statistical methods and graphs the analytical method has been used to show the application of sentences and formation of the power of narrator in presentation of powerful poetic STATEMENTs.
