Title

The role of religious attitude and academic ethics in predicting students' quality of life

Abstract

 Background and Aim: The quality of life of students plays a vital role in improving their mental health and academic performance, and it is important and necessary to examine the factors related to it. Based on this, the present research was conducted with the aim of determining the role of religious attitude and academic ethics in predicting the quality of life of students. Method: The study was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of the research was the students of Farhangian University of South Khorasan in the second semester of the academic year 2023-2024 in the number of 1520 people, of which 209 students were included in the study by stratified sampling method. The data collection tools included WHO quality of life questionnaires (1996), Golriz and Brahni's religious attitude (1973) and Golparvar's academic ethics (2009). In data analysis, SPSS-27 software and Pearson correlation test and multiple regression were used. Findings: The results of multiple regression analysis showed that religious attitude (r=0. 498) and academic ethics (r=0. 516) positively and significantly predict students' quality of life (P<0. 01). In total, academic ethics and religious attitude explain 51. 6% of the variance of students' quality of life. Conclusion: According to the results, the growth and promotion of ethics in university educational environments and the improvement of religious beliefs and attitudes among students will be the basis for the growth of students' quality of life, and therefore it is suggested to pay attention to these psychological structures by the educational administrators of universities.
