Abstract

This research studied the sociological relationship between the religious beliefs and lifestyle on the basis of Goffman’s theory and method in kermanshah city in 2009. The research has tried to study the relationship between the religious beliefs and people’s lifestyle in their life BACK STAGE and FRONT STAGE and has utilized the field method with cooperative observation technique and informal interviews. The results of this research showed that the people in the situation of FRONT STAGE revealed a personality which was acceptable to others and the existing culture of the society. In the situation of BACK STAGE the people had more freedom in actions, because they’re not restricted by the rules and regulations of the society, and did not play and pretend to save their social situation. People got closer to their SELF- socialized steps in their FRONT STAGE. It can be can inferred from the analyses of the people ‘s interviews in this group revealed that there is a relationship between religious beliefs and lifestyle of people both in back and FRONT STAGE, as mentioned of kermanshah city with its rituals, traditions and beliefs.
