Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the sharing of PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT components (PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT of family, PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT of friends, PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT of classmates, Beliefs about social support, social support totally) and parents socio-economic status in predicting SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT of girl STUDENTS in high schools of Javanrood city in educational year of 89-90. Statistical population of the research was formed of high school girl STUDENTS (Tazkieh, Hajar, Niayesh, Zainabieh, Effat, Farzanegan) of Javanrood city studying educational year of 89-90 (N=1750). Published tables was used to select sample size that estimated sample size was 333. To determine the sharing of each one of schools and access to samples, we used sampling proportionate to sample size.Information was collected by using Kalifornia personal questionnaire and PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT questionnaire and to evaluate research findings, the data was analyzed by using descriptive statistics, frequency table and graphs and inferential statistics and multivariate regression analysis by help of spss software.Data analysis showed that: 1. There is a meaningful correlation between PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT of family and SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT.2. There is a meaningful correlation between social support totally and SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT.3. There is a meaningful correlation between social support of classmates and SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT.4. There is a meaningful correlation between, parent’s socio – economic status and SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT.Also PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT of family showed maximum share and PERCEIVED SOCIAL SUPPORT of friends showed maximum share in predicting SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT
