Abstract

 Background& Objectives: Nurses’ clinical decision-making is a complex process in OR that holds potential to influence the quality of care. So, this study was designed to investigate the effect of compound education SIMULATION and critical thinking strategies on CLINICAL DECISION MAKING in Perioperative nursing students.Material & Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted as pretest-posttest design, on 32 Perioperative nursing students in two groups of control (15 students) and experiment (17 students). After performing the pretest of CLINICAL DECISION MAKING skills, both groups spent 16 sessions of SIMULATION. The experiment group was taught using the SIMULATION and critical thinking strategies and the students of control group had the SIMULATION only. After finishing the educational course, CLINICAL DECISION MAKING skill in the two groups was compared and the results were analyzed by SPSS software.Results: Final results, the study showed no significant differences in the two groups.Conclusion: This study, Researchers provided an educational approach to improve CLINICAL DECISION MAKING in the operating room nurse. It would be an important step in upgrading the skill of CLINICAL DECISION MAKING in nursing. Therefore, further studies with more samples, and training sessions are offered.
