Abstract

Haliday's impressionistic theory has benefited from portrayal-semantic basis and shows the formation and representation of man's EXPERIENCEs through a transitory system. The aim of this article is to discover Hafez's experimental world and its theory in that, through these processes, one can appreciate the rate of abstract or concrete rate of Hafez's lyrics. The research body includes 5412 verbs which have been chosen through systematic sampling. The findings of the research show that Hafez's abstract, self-awareness and MATERIAListic world relations are %31.5, %32.5 and %36 respectively; and also PREDICATIVE and IDENTITY process in Hafez was %93 and %7. It can be inferred from the above– mentioned findings that abstract and self-awareness world of Hafez were approximately equal with each other and it was more in physical activities and movements and the mental-abstract atmosphere was more than action and concrete atmosphere. Also, the abstract relations were mostly of the PREDICATIVE ones and the partial IDENTITY was of less importance.
