Abstract

 The aim of the current descriptive-correlational paper was to investigate the impact of EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE (El) on work outcomes (employees' JOB SATISFACTION and JOB PERFORMANCE) at higher education institutions. The sample included 285 university employees selected through stratified sampling method. The research instruments included emotional and behavioral intelligence scale (EIBS) (Tomczak, 2010), JOB SATISFACTION questionnaire (Schjoedt, 2002), and JOB PERFORMANCE questionnaire (Thomas & Ruio, 1997). They were all validated and administered. The collected data were analyzed through running sample t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient, and STRUCTURAL EQUATION MODELING (SEM) using SPSS (16) and LISREL (8.54). The results of the study indicated that EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE was a positive and significant predictor of employees' JOB SATISFACTION and JOB PERFORMANCE.
