Abstract

In this study, the relationship between LIFE EXPECTANCY and psychological PERSEVERANCE was investigated among students of Azad University of Gachsaran (both boys and girls) in 2005-2006. Participants were 85 girls and 247 boys that were selected through random sampling among fourteen majors from three groups of humanities, engineering, and medicine-related majors. They all answered Miller’s LIFE EXPECTANCY questionnaire and the PERSEVERANCE inventory, AHI. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics and Pearson coefficients were used. Results showed that there is a meaningful relationship between LIFE EXPECTANCY and PERSEVERANCE among students. Also, the results of multiple regression analysis showed that the combination of LIFE EXPECTANCY, marriage, and age accounted for Mr=0.56, Rs=0.32 of hardiness among students of university which was meaningful at p=0.0001.
