Abstract

The aim of this study was to compare SELF-MONITORING in EMPLOYED and UNEMPLOYED WOMEN. This field research EMPLOYED a descriptive methodology. The sample included two groups of EMPLOYED (fulltime/part-time) and UNEMPLOYED WOMEN in Tehran. Snyder’s SELF-MONITORING questionnaire was used to collect data. SPSS software and descriptive statistics (independent t-test, Chi square, ANOVA, correlation coefficient) were used to analyze the relationship between the variables of the study. The results revealed that EMPLOYED WOMEN’s SELF-MONITORING was significantly higher than that of UNEMPLOYED WOMEN (p<0.001). Further, there was no significant difference among the three groups of high, medium, and low SELF-MONITORING WOMEN. In order to display the results based on the nature of the hypotheses and to answer the research questions a use was made of both descriptive and inferential statistics (e.g. independent t-test).
