COMPARISON OF THE EFFECT OF WEB-BASED EDUCATION AND TRADITIONAL EDUCATION ON MIDWIFERY STUDENTS FOR LEARNING THE LESSON OF FETUS HEALTH

Abstract

 Aims: Virtual education is one of the active and new methods for promotion of educational quality. The aim of this study was to compare the influence of web-based and traditional teaching methods on MIDWIFERY STUDENTS' knowledge about a survey of fetus health.Methods: In this field-experimental study with pre and post testing was performed on 43 MIDWIFERY STUDENTS who were divided into two groups of the traditional group (22 students) and virtual training (22 students). Before and after education, pre and post testing scores were done for both groups then were analyzed by paired and independent t-tests.Results: From Based on the findings, there weren' t any significant differences between scores of web-based and TRADITIONAL EDUCATION groups. However, both methods were effective in the promotion of students’ knowledge (P<0.02) according to pre-post testing.Conclusion: Web-based teaching seems to be effective as traditional teaching in the education of medical students. With regard to advantages of the web-based method, it is recommended to be used in university educational programs.
