Abstract

The present study aimed at identifying the debilitating factors in conducting research of university FACULTY MEMBERS. The population included all FACULTY MEMBERS in humanities at all universities in Ahwaz. One hundred of them were selected as the sample based on the sample volume formula and stratified random sampling. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire which its content, concurrent validity and Cronbach’s alpha reliability were met after piloting it. Data were analyzed by SPSS for frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, factor analysis, t- test and one-way ANOVA. Results revealed that tack of research facilities, mismanagement and wrong research policies, problems to empower FACULTY MEMBERS, limiting offices regulations, personal problems, and social and economical issues were among the debilitating factors that humanity faculty of Ahwaz University. However, there was no significant difference between several groups of FACULTY MEMBERS based on gender, university degree, scientific position, the university where one works in.
