Abstract

Texture of old and worn in cities of country that in most cases constitute the original core of that cities, in one hand arc considered part of the cultural and historical heritage; and protection and physical improvements and functional empowerment of them is inevitable. On the other hand most of these textures with time and lack of proper maintenance, are affected by physical and functional collapse and exhaustion. Ghorveh city also like these cities has the old texture. One of districts of this city is Ghilar district that is consistent with old texture and initial core the city formation. This district faces with such problems as: width of the unorganized streets, steep in some passages, severe exhaustion of residential buildings, proximity with cemetery, small and very small aggregation. In this direction this research aims to investigate public participation in organizing old texture of Ghilar district, that was used descriptive - analytic method and data collecting method in this research was field, library and attributive. Data collecting tool were questionnaire, interview, observation and field studies. Statistical population of this study were determined all city residents in Ghilar district that using Kokran sampling; 150 people were selected as statistical sample. Results indicate that public participation and citizenry is effective in accelerate the improvement of old texture of Ghilar district and organizing passages of studied district causes to upgrade functionality and new role of it.
