Abstract

The objective of this article is to investigate the efforts of social scientists in the analysis of the status of history for the growth and development of science and securing the validity of social sciences from a historical standpoint. To this end, necessity of deeding with traditional-historical methods was felt through comparing and contrasting social sciences with natural sciences. In this approach the concern for clarity, stability and order was scrutinized and it was found that traditional HISTORICAL METHOD is unable to discover relations between material and nature of the phenomenon. On the other hand, the ARCHEOLOGY of knowledge and GENEALOGY were investigated from Foucault's view as an analytical method, which emphasizes on dissociation, discontinuity and disunity. Therefore, this is a library study. Date analysis shows that HISTORICAL METHODs are unable to understand the nature of phenomena due to the complexities of history. So, using archeological and genealogical methods can, in the face of many limitations, pave the way for the growth of an appropriate "method".The results indicate that despite complexities and ambiguities in ARCHEOLOGY and GENEALOGY and the necessity to reconsider them, the researchers need to initiate fresh moves for better utilization and adopt more appropriate synthetically methods.
