Abstract

Background: The objective of the current research was to determine the relationship between PARENTING STYLES and PRO-SOCIAL BEHAVIOURS (particularly RESPECTING TO RULES) among PRE-SCHOOL CHILDREN in Tehran's pre-school centers.Materials and Methods: 394 children whom were enrolled in this study and their mother’s were randomly selected through a multi-stage cluster sampling. PRO-SOCIAL BEHAVIOURS of children were assessed by means of teacher's rating checklist of PRO-SOCIAL BEHAVIOURS and PARENTING STYLES was assessed by means of parenting style questionnaire.Results: Findings showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between authorative parenting style and PRO-SOCIAL BEHAVIOURS.Conclusion: According to the findings of this study, there is a significant relationship between PARENTING STYLES and PRO-SOCIAL BEHAVIOURS of children, especially their respect to rules.
