THE PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF VITAMIN E IN P-32 -INDUCED CHROMOSOMAL DAMAGE OF BONE MARROW TISSUE IN MOUSE

Abstract

 In this study the protective effects of VITAMIN E against P-32-induced chromosomal damage was studied in mature red blood cells in bone marrow of mice. For this purpose, at the time of administration of 100 microCurie of P-32, VITAMIN E (Lp.) was given in doses of 500, 1000, and 1250 mg/Kg one time/2 days for a period of 20 days. Then, the, number of polychromatophilic and normochromatophilic erythrocyte were counted. The results showed that VITAMIN E at a dose of 1250 mg/Kg can significantly prevent the effect of MICRONUCLEI induction by P-32 (P<0.0001).
