Abstract

Background and objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between Social capital and Tendency to drug use in Zabol city. Methodology: The research method was of survey type and the statistical population of this study included 4, 721secondary school male Students in Zabol city. The sample size was set as 355 individuals who were selected using Cochran formula. The data gathering tool was a researcher-made questionnaire whose validity was confirmed using face validity and its reliability was calculated using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. Findings: The results indicated that the mean of male Students' tendency towards drug use was significantly higher than female ones; there was a significant positive relationship between the wicked friends and the rate of tendency toward drug, but there was a inverse significant relationship between Social capital and its dimensions with the tendency toward drug. Results: Regression test showed that the Relationships with wicked friends, Gender, and Social norms account for 36% of the variations in dependent variables.
