Abstract

The current research was intended to examine the relationship of SELF-EFFICACY, SOCIAL DESIRABILITY and SOCIAL ANXIETY in Abadan Islamic Azad University FEMALE STUDENTS. The sample included 100female student, who were selected randomly via multi-stage sampling method. For collecting data three scales (questionnaires) were used: General SELF-EFFICACY Scale(GSE), Marlowe - Crowne SOCIAL DESIRABILITY Scale and SOCIAL ANXIETY Scale ( SAD, FNE).The analysis of data based on the Pearson Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Regression statistical methods revealed that SOCIAL ANXIETY significantly correlated to SELF-EFFICACY and SOCIAL DESIRABILITY. The results also indicated that the SELF-EFFICACY rather than SOCIAL DESIRABILITY was a significant predictor for SOCIAL ANXIETY( the criterion variable).
