Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship among ATTENTION BIASES and GENERALIZED SELF-EFFICACY with SOCIAL ANXIETY in female students of Ahwaz Islamic Azad University. The research sample was 145 female students which were randomly selected through cluster sampling procedure. To collect data SOCIAL ANXIETY Scale (FNE.SAD), Focus of Attention (FAQ) and GENERALIZED SELF-EFFICACY (GSE-10) Questionnaire were used. The results by using Pearson correlation showed that ATTENTION BIASES (self-focused attention) had a significant positive correlation with SOCIAL ANXIETY and GENERALIZED SELF-EFFICACY had a significant negative correlation with SOCIAL ANXIETY. But ATTENTION BIASES (external-focused attention) hadn’t a significant correlation with SOCIAL ANXIETY. Also multiple regressions showed a multiple significant correlation between research variables and the independent variables. GENERALIZED SELF-EFFICACY and ATTENTION BIASES (self-focused attention) were best predictor of SOCIAL ANXIETY.
