Abstract

Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to do a comparative EVALUATION of ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN, IRAQ and TURKEY National Library WEBsites, based on important characteristics in usability of WEBsites.Methodology: In this research, assessment of National Library WEBsites has been done using a checklist. The checklist includes 11 CRITERIA and 160 components for reviewing and evaluating WEBsites.Results: According to allocated grade to hypothetical WEBsite (with 100% confirmed CRITERIA and components) equal 663 points, the Iran national library WEBsite with 594 points (88/5%) has been achieved first rank. TURKEY with 485 points (70/5%) and IRAQ with 330 points (46/2%) are second and third, respectively.Conclusion: Based on the results of this research, some proposals have been offered to WEBsite designers and decision-makers of Iran National Library. Through recommended proposals in the checklist of Iran National Library WEBsite, the improvement of the usability of WEBsite and preservation of regional strategic position is possible.
