Abstract

HAFT PEIKAR is the forth composition in verse of Nizami and is considered as a masterpiece. There are two parts in this literary work: the first part is about Bahram and his life and the second part is about his seven wives stories. The structure of this book can be an issue of investigation based on FORMALISM. One of the main elements of these stories is CHARACTERs. In the structural analysis of the narrative, there are no real CHARACTERs as human beings in the text but collections of pictures, actions and lingual signs. The narrator of HAFT PEIKAR uses direct and indirect styles in their narrative for introducing the CHARACTERs. In this paper, the researcher inspects the reflection of CHARACTERs and their sources that appear in frame of action, name and title, language, environment and external apparent.
