Abstract

Purpose: The effectiveness of the psychoeducation intervention on QUALITY OF LIFE, MENTAL HEALTH and well-being of patients with MS disease. Method: Twenty-four MS patients referred to MS Specialized Clinic who had criteria for entering the study were selected and randomly divided into two groups. The two groups were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. To measure the variables of the research, instruments such as QOL, MENTAL HEALTH Scale and MINDFULNESS Scale were used. At first, both groups completed the pre-test questionnaires. Subjects were then subjected to psycho-educational intervention for 8 sessions of 150 minutes and one day of vigilance training, and control subjects continued only drug therapy. Finally, both groups completed the post-test questionnaires. Findings: The results showed that psychosocial intervention significantly improved the QUALITY OF LIFE and the scores of patients with MS. MENTAL HEALTH of the patients did not change significantly after the psycho-educational intervention. Based on the results of this study, it is concluded that this intervention can be used as an appropriate and effective supplement therapy for people with MS.
