Abstract

 Family is the first founder of individual’ s personality, values and intellectual criteria that plays an important role in determining life style and guidelines in the future. Purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between student’ s state and trait Anxiety and their mother’ s Early maladaptive Schemas. The sample included 100 female students and their Mothers in elementary schools in 2014-2015 in Qazvin. Subjects were selected by multistage cluster sampling, and they completed Schpil Berger Trait and State Anxiety Inventory, and their Mothers completed schema questionnaire. The Pearson correlation test was used for data analysis. Results of study indicated that there was a significant relationship between the mother’ s Early maladaptive Schemas and student’ s Trait and State Anxiety (p≤ 0. 05). The implication of the effects of mother’ s Early maladaptive Schemas on children in the assessment of children’ s welfare is discussed. It is better to pay attention to cognitive features such as beliefs and schemas of parents in training parenting styles and family learning or behavioral therapy of children’ s disorders.
