Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present a social model in relation to the role of RELIGIOUS ORIENTATION and EXTERNAL CONTROL CENTER. Through the use of multi-stage method, 500 students of Khoosef Town in the academic year of 1391-1392 were asked to fill in the RELIGIOUS ORIENTATION (Allport, 1963), EXTERNAL CONTROL CENTER (Rotter, 1996), and social support (Maleki, Dimry, and Eliot 2000) questionnaires. The research is a kind of correlation that has used path-based analysis. The results showed that external RELIGIOUS ORIENTATIONs, by increasing the EXTERNAL CONTROL CENTER, indirectly cause a decrease in the perception of support from parents and friends. The role of RELIGIOUS ORIENTATION, therefore, is very important in the perception of social support. Also, the control center clarifies the role of RELIGIOUS ORIENTATION in the perception of social support.
