THE STUDY PRACTICALITY, RELIABILITY, VALIDITY AND STANDARDIZATION OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE SCALE FOR HIGH SCHOOLS TEACHERS IN TEHRAN CITY

Abstract

 The present study aimed at standardization EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE scale in governmental highschools in Tehran city. A total number of 456 teachers served as the subjects of this study. Questionnaire with 98 items using likert scale rating of 1 to 4 served as the research tool. In primary stage the questionnaire had reliability coefficient of 0/754, having 15 items with low and nonsignificant item-total polyserial correlations. In the final stage, after deleting these 15 items, the sale with 83 items showed a reliability coefficient of 0/751. principal component analysis using varimax rotation, resulted in the following components: 1) social awareness, 2) responsibility, 3) cooperation, 4) self managing and correct performance, 5) obeying moral basis, 6) need for other’s friendship, 7) leadership, 8) flexibility, self–control or self-restraint, 9) decision making power and stability, 10) sutiable opportunities and positive leadership of behaviours, 11) attempt to reaching goal, 12) interpersonal ability for communication and social relationship, 13) other people persuasion and effect in them and 14) cooperation working and collaboration.
