Abstract

Tourism, as the second largest income industry in the world after oil, has had a remarkable development in terms of the structural and functional status of human settlements, including towns and villages, due to its many positive socio-economic impacts. This industry is considered as the third developmental strategy in the Third World countries. The purpose of the present study was to identify the most important obstacles to the development of tourism industry in Kojur. A descriptive-analytical method was used in the study. In order to collect the necessary data, library and field methods (questionnaire) were used. The statistical population of the research were the households living in Kojour. According to the Cochran formula, 150 participants were sampled. For data analysis, descriptive and inferential statistics (exploratory factor analysis) were used. Based on the findings, the result of reducing thirty nine variables was eight factors: physical, physical and economic, cultural information, cultural and social, among which the physical factor with significant amount of 8. 67 and a variance of 15. 34 was considered as the most important obstacle to the development of tourism in Kojur.
