Abstract

Nowadays tourism industry is known as the dominant industry of the third millennium. tourism with its all sub-branches is the strongest, the most persistent, and the least dangerous section which can introduce numerous opportunities for employment and meaningful activities to the world’ s human inhabitants and support the world’ s macroeconomics in a peaceful condition away from environmental dangers and in a stable and developable way. On the other hand, our country is one of the countries which have the great potentials and capabilities of tourism. Therefore, tourism section towards a sustainable development can include a lot of social and economic strategies in an appropriate way. One of the most basic subjects of tourism is related to tourists’ lodgings. Tourists for lodging and meeting their first needs must have a dwelling in an appropriate place. Thus variety and increasing the dwellings in a country can be an indicator of development for that country. It should be investigated that where the status of hoteling in our country especially in Tehran is; how hotels can satisfy the tourists’ needs; and what approaches can improve hoteling industry. Thus the present study have focused on the analyzing the conditions of four and five star hotels in Tehran. Polling the guests of hotels, the present study deals with these questions that what are the roles of hotels in tourism development in Tehran and how they can satisfy their guests. The study can help resolve the shortcomings found in hotels.
