EVALUATING THE QUALITY OF SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE LIBRARY AND INFORMATION CENTER OF IMAM SADEGH (PBUH) UNIVERSITY USING LIBQUAL MODEL

Abstract

 Purpose: This research seeks to evaluate the quality of services provided in the library and information center of Imam Sadegh (pbuh) University through using LIBQUAL tool.Method: This study uses descriptive survey method. Research population consists of 3454 members of the library from which 346 persons were chosen as sample size using simple random way. To analyze the data, SPSS software was used.Results: In meeting the needs of users, the Library and Information Center had an average performance. In other words, users' demands have been met, but with minimum and maximum acceptable level.Conclusions: Amongst the items of the research, items 22 (accessibility to e-resources from the home and the workplace), 2 (attention to all users one by one), 8 (help to them by staff), and 10 (availability of the suitable studying and team learning place in the library), are considered the weakest points of the center, while items 16 (easy and single accessibility to information), 17 (availability of series of published and e-journals), 19 (the calm space for personal acts), and 12 (availability of published resources) are the strongest ones. However, the others are in an average state.
