Abstract

The purpose of this study is the examination of the relationship between quality of work life and SOCIAL ALIENATION among secondary high school TEACHERS in TABRIZ. This study is a survey study and the population is 13274male and female high school TEACHERS in TABRIZ in 91-1390 educational year. Sample size is 373 using the Kukran formula and stratified sampling methods. Data were gathered using questionnaires of QUALITY OF WORKING LIFE which was adopted from Walton’s questionnaire and Seaman Melvin SOCIAL ALIENATION questionnaire which are reliable using Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient. In order to analyze the data, descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation test, t test and one-way ANOVA were used. The results show that there is a meaningful correlation between the quality of life and SOCIAL ALIENATION. Also there is a meaningful and inverse relationship between the QUALITY OF WORKING LIFE and each of the SOCIAL ALIENATION dimensions except social isolation. It means that low QUALITY OF WORKING LIFE enhances the SOCIAL ALIENATION dimensions among TEACHERS.
