Abstract

IN FRENCH: Dans De Sa'di à Aragon, ouvrage consacré à é tudier l’ influence de la poé sie persane sur la litté rature franç aise, en insistant sur l’ admiration de Henri de Montherlant pour Khayyâ m et en mettant en clarté quelques thè mes communs dans l’ oeuvre de ces deux é crivains, Hadidi parle du cheminement du romancier franç ais sur les traces du poè te persan. Lisant cet aperç u, une question nous vient à l’ esprit: é tant donné que ces é crivains appartiennent à deux contextes sociaux absolument diffé rents, pouvons-nous les inté grer dans une mê me famille intellectuelle? Dans cet article, aprè s avoir exprimé les Quatrains de Khayyâ m et quelques romans de Montherlant, nous cherchons à mener une é tude comparative pour voir si ces deux auteurs, abordant les thè mes de l’ angoisse existentielle de l’ homme et la quê te du plaisir, convergent vers les mê mes points. Ensuite, nous nous penchons sur leur situation sociale et les discours contre ou pour lesquels ils prennent position, pour observer que les points de convergence reconnus informent d’ une parenté remarquable entre ces deux é crivains. In English: In De Sa'di in Aragon, a work devoted to studying the influence of Persian poetry on French literature, emphasizing the admiration of Henri de Montherlant for Khayyâ m and highlighting some common themes in the work of these two writers, Hadidi talks about the journey of the Persian poet in the footsteps of the French novelist. Reading this overview, one question comes to mind: since these writers belong to two completely different social contexts, can we integrate them into the same intellectual family? In this study, after reading profoundly the Quatrains of Khayyam and several novels of Montherlant, we seek to say that these two authors, addressing the existential anxieties of man and the quest for pleasure, converge on the same points. But then, we look at their social situation and the discourses against or for which they take the position, to know if the points of recognized convergence show a remarkable relationship between these two writers.
