AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL INNOVATION (CASE: TOSEEH INSURANCE COMPANY)

Abstract

 Background: INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL could be an important component in ORGANIZATIONAL INNOVATION. Thus, take this to into account in the case of TOSEEH INSURANCE COMPANY is our intend.Objective: This study aims to investigate the relationship between INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL and ORGANIZATIONAL INNOVATION, and also to determine relative contribution of each dimension of INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL (human capital, structural capital, and customer capital) for anticipating ORGANIZATIONAL INNOVATION.Method: Statistical population consisted all experts of TOSEEH INSURANCE COMPANY. 98 persons were selected with random sampling method. Two questionnaires were used to collect data: 1) Bontis’s INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL questionnaire (1998), with reliability of Corronbach’s Alpha of (0.84), and 2) innovation questionnaire with reliability of Corronbach’s alpha of (0.89). To analyze the data, descriptive and inferential methods such as, coefficient of correlation (r) and stepwise regression coefficient (R), were used.Result: The findings are summarized as follows: 1) there is a positive relationship between INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL and innovation. 2) there is a positive relationship between dimensions of INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL (human capital, structural capital, and customer capital) and innovation. 3) in general, factors of INTELLECTUAL CAPITAL (human capital, structural capital, and customer capital) can anticipate innovation. However, findings showed that structural capital was not considered as a strong predictor for innovation.Conclusion: These findings and their implications are fully discussed in this paper.
