Abstract

Purpose: Determining the level of maturity, the level of readiness for knowledge management, as well as identifying areas requiring knowledge management initiatives in central and faculties' libraries of Razi University based on the knowledge management framework of the Asian Productivity Organization. Methodology: The research was conducted using a survey method. Data were collected using a questionnaire of Asian Productivity Organization. The reliability of the questionnaire was calculated 0. 9, based on the mean value of Cronbach's alpha coefficient. The members of the research community were 31 people and 94% answered the questionnaire. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 23 software. Pearson correlation, T-test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test were used to measure the mean of seven groups of criteria. Friedman's nonparametric test was used to rank the standard groups. Findings: The knowledge management situation in central libraries and Razi universities was ranked in seven groups below the knowledge management framework of the Asian Productivity Organization. The readiness of the library for accepting knowledge management at the start level was evaluated. The results of ranking groups showed that IT was at the highest level and leadership in KM was at the lowest level. The ranking of other groups of criteria from top to bottom was: knowledge processes, knowledge management results, learning and innovation, process, and individuals. Conclusion: It seems that the central library in the implementation of KM needs to identify areas that require knowledge management initiatives, identify strengths, and areas that need improvement. Also, in the form of a systematic program based on research suggestions, to reach the higher levels, i. e. comprehensive development of knowledge management, continuous refinement and evaluation of knowledge management programs, and maturity and knowledge management.
